General rules:
1.1 Game will be played with 4 players per team (+ substitutes), each team is in one of 2 groups, and there are always 2 games at the same time.
1.2 The games last 10 minutes. When the final whistle is blown, the current move is played to the end.
1.3 There is a 5-minute break between games.
1.4 Each team is responsible to be on the pitch right on time for playing and refereeing! (Tardiness or absence will be punished with point loss!)
1.5 3 points for winners and a draw is worth 1 point for each team.
1.6 It is forbidden to touch the net regardless of whether it is the edge of the net or elsewhere.
1.7 You are not allowed to touch opposing players outside of your field while the ball is still in play. We want to avoid collisions and injuries. (Safety first!)
1.8 Boundary lines mark the perimeter of the court. The end lines mark the length of the court, and the sidelines to mark the width of the court. The net and boundary lines mark your side of the field.
Serving (Underhand or Overhand):
2.1 The serving area is the entire area behind the end line between the sidelines and as deep as the court area allows. The serve always starts at position 1
2.2 Service may be underhand or overhand.
2.3 The opponent's serve may not be returned immediately above the edge of the net
Contacts:
3.1 Each team is allowed three contacts to send the ball over the net between the two antennas. A block counts as the 1st touch. After that, it may only be played twice.
3.2 A player cannot touch the ball with two consecutive contacts.
3.3 The ball must be clearly hit: throwing, lifting or shoving the ball is illegal.
3.4 The ball can be played with all parts of the body (except when serving).
Others:
4.1 Referee: The referee is always right, and his decision will be respected by all players no questions asked, even if he/she is a blind amateur with no sense for space, timing and fair play. Each referee is obligated to make decisions to the best of their knowledge and belief.
4.2 Schedule and Standings: It will be displayed somehow (screen or printout) when and where your team must play or referee games. There will be a link where you can see the schedule and standings.
4.3 Right to serve: The team that won the last point does the next serve. (At the beginning of the game the referee will decide which team starts with first serve.)
4.4 Rotation: A team maintains its position until they win a point after a serve of the opposing team. Then all players of that team rotate one position clockwise.
4.5 Substitution: Substitutions are allowed any time while ball is not in play with no cap on substitutions. We expect teams to rotate all players that want to play into the game on regular basis. (Abusing this rule for stalling time can be punished with point loss!)
